DETROIT - Little Caesars Arena was full of energy Saturday as the loudest and largest crowd of the season watched the Detroit Pistons run their winning streak to a season-high five games at the expense of the NBA's modern-day dynasty.

The Pistons took the lead early in the second quarter and didn't relinquish it, defeating the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors 111-102 before a sellout crowd of 20,332.

Blake Griffin scored 26 points. Andre Drummond tallied 16 points and 19 rebounds. Reggie Jackson picked up 17 points and five assists.

But equally important was the contribution off the bench from Stanley Johnson, who scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

The Pistons (13-7) have won six in a row at LCA, which is becoming the "hot gym" that coach Dwane Casey often talks about.

The Warriors (15-9), who have won the championship in three of the past four seasons, have lost six in a row on the road.

Golden State was missing Draymond Green (toe). Steph Curry returned after sitting out 11 games with a groin injury and scored 27 points. Kevin Durant scored 28 points and Klay Thompson added 21 points.

The Warriors made only 6-of-26 from 3-point range (23 percent).

The Pistons got back-to-back threes from Griffin and Reggie Bullock and a three-point play from Jackson to go up 69-55 with 7:34 to play in the third quarter, their biggest lead.

But Curry heated up, drained a pair of threes and making a layup, and Durant continued having success attacking the basket as Golden State cut the lead to two with 2:06 remaining in the quarter.

Johnson's 3-pointer at the buzzer put Detroit ahead 85-78 after three quarters.

Ish Smith scored the Pistons' first seven points of the fourth quarter to curtail Golden State's comeback hopes.

The Pistons were playing their second game in as many nights. The Warriors were rested, coming off an overtime loss at Toronto on Thursday.

Tied at 24 after the first quarter, the Pistons gained some separation in the second quarter, led by the bench.

Johnson was the catalyst. He drove to the basket with authority and scored 11 in the second quarter and 13 in the half.

The Pistons led by as many as 11 points and took a 54-46 advantage into the break.
